To better map out the corona numbers and contacts, we, as a university, want to dedicate ourselves to the Coronalert app. To beat corona together, we have to know who is infected more quickly. Only that way can we stop the spread.

Maybe you are a carrier of the virus, because you were in close contact with someone who is infected with the virus. The app will warn you if that’s the case. Install it and motivate your acquaintances to do the same. It will only work if as many people as possible use it. Professor Rosamunde Van Brakel is a member of the interuniversity study group focused on the app and explains more about the privacy and safety of it.

How to use it

  1. Download the app from your usual app store.
  2. Install the app and give your permission to use Bluetooth.
  3. Check your reports regularly to protect yourself and others.
  4. Warn the app anonymously if you received positive test results.

Don't forget the four basic VUB rules

  • Wear your face mask always and everywhere.
  • Keep a distance of 1.5 m.
  • Regularly wash your hands.
  • Ventilate classrooms as often as possible, unless there is mechanical ventilation in the classroom.

Stay safe. Protect each other.
