VUB-researcher in Linguistics and Literary Studies Annelies Augustyns is researching diaries and autobiographies from the city of Breslau for her PhD, looking for hints about how daily life changed under National Socialism for the Jewish population and how this was textually represented. 



"The city of Breslau became a forbidden zone for the Jews. Only a few places remained for them. One of these was the cemetery. It was here where Jewish life was concentrated at the end, it was the place where people went to sunbathe, where children had to play,..."
