VUB researcher Kristel Paque was inspired to study general medical practice after caring for her grandmother. Her current PhD research at the VUB and UGent is focused on improving the medication use of people with reduced life expectancy in order to improve their quality of life. 



People at the end of their lives take on average about 91 pills per week. Kristel hopes to find out if all those pills are really necessary by surveying cancer patients and nursing home residents.
