You don't get to decide how and where you are born. In this respect, we are all children of blind chance and equal to each other. It should make us humble and understanding. Open to all. Unfortunately, inequality, prejudice and stereotyping still exist. What makes us human is the extent to which we fight against them. In ourselves and in others.

For six weeks te VUB Community can watch inspiring and engaging films thanks to the partnership with Flagey and inspiring curators. Every week a different theme, every week new films. A look at people

This week, curator and The Girl with A Movie Camera Lidewij Nuitten chose the film Minding the Gap, a heartbreaking story about three young people growing up in the heart of the American Rust Belt.

Curator Lukas Dhont accelerated the gender debate with his globally awarded film Girl. For the film festival, he selected Girlhood, which breaks with the learned stereotypical image of femininity.

In Connected, you get a look at dating in the future, where virtual reality plays the leading role.
